1 На практике к данному виду шума относят шумы, для которых уровни звукового давления в октавных полосах со среднегеометрическими частотами от 31,5 до 125 Гц существенно (на 10 дБ и более) превышают уровни звукового давления в октавных полосах более высокого диапазона частот.
2 В ГОСТ 31296.1 шум с превалированием низких частот рассматривается в диапазоне от 5 до 100 Гц (имеются в виду среднегеометрические частоты третьоктавных полос по ГОСТ 12090). Однако настоящий стандарт не распространяется на область инфразвуковых частот.
